Through the Festival and his literary and musical works, Sir Uwem seeks to reconnect contemporary Christians, particularly younger generations, with the theological depth, poetic beauty, history and spiritual significance of hymns. His conviction is that hymns are not merely songs of worship, but treasured expressions of Christian faith, doctrine, testimony and heritage.

He is the author of Abiding Grace Hymns & Anthems, a collection of original and curated Christian musical works, and Abiding Grace Hymnal, which explores the stories, messages and spiritual significance of treasured Christian hymns. His work reflects a commitment not only to writing and preserving hymns but also to ensuring that their enduring truths remain relevant to contemporary worship.

As Music Director of the Methodist Diocese of Kubwa, Sir Uwem continues to contribute to choral music, congregational singing and Christian musical formation. Through his compositions, publications, concerts and hymnody initiatives, he is helping to build a renewed appreciation of hymnody as an essential part of the Church's spiritual and cultural heritage.

Professionally, Sir Uwem is a public-sector specialist with experience in environmental management, climate change, sustainable development, economic planning and public-private partnerships, but his work in hymnody represents a distinctive expression of his faith, creativity and service to the Church.
